The Official Fictitious Fremont Jackson Biography PDF Print E-mail
In a long and storied career, Fremont Jackson traveled the United States and Canada – playing with an off Broadway touring company and organizing jam sessions with local musicians at every opportunity. Over time, there were literally hundreds of musicians who could claim to have “sat in” with Fremont… Many of them still get together in his name. In the most recent evolution of Fremont’s legacy, Brent Laidler serves as organizer and bandleader because, “Well, someone had to do it.”

Fremont Jackson’s Eclectric Band barely manages to contain the area’s most prolific musical talents. Collectively, the band’s personnel have performed with over 70 recording artists, musical giants, touring companies, Broadway and movie stars, comedians and politicians – on stage, in film, and for television.

“It’s really exciting to be a part of,” Brent says. “You never know when a waltz may break out!”

Fremont himself suffered a terrible head and foot injury in 1987 when his railroad car hit a siding. Upon his release from the Hospital, he discovered the complete loss of his sense of smell, rhythm, and humor.

Now unable to perform, Fremont lives with his children in Chicago and watches "I Love Lucy" reruns on DVD to yell at the musicians in Desi’s Orchestra.
