Fremont Jackson has become a name well known to music lovers in the area. Anyone who has been to one of the Uptown Jazz and Blues Festivals can claim they have seen Fremont Jackson the band, but not many can say they have seen Fremont Jackson the man. . .
There is an amusing story behind those circumstances, but the truth is that the Fremont groups serve as a collective for the area's most sought professional musicians in an environment that allows a great amount of fun and creativity.
Having become a mainstay to Lafayette's Music Festival scene, Fremont will be back again in 2011 with an All-Star Cast...
Brent Laidler is a name less familiar with the audiences, but more familiar with festival coordinators, event planners, and professional musicians across the country. His work as an instrument repair technician has won an international clientele. His musical compositions and performances can be heard in film scores and on radio and television stations from Indiana to Seattle and Los Angeles, most recently at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. He works as a guitarist and sideman with several area jazz and blues ensembles. As a Bandleader, his groups have performed at fairs, festivals and major events for well over a decade.
